Okay I was involved in a hit an run accident a little over 2 weeks ago. I have full coverage insurance including uninsured and underinsured coverage. Also the required 10,000$ personal injury protection required by my state KY. My policy is with AAA. I owe around 9,000$ on my truck still, but was told finally yesterday that AAA is settling my vahicle loss at a little over 13,000$. My attorney told me that since I didn't have a job where I received regular payroll checks I could not claim loss wages. Why is this? And is there anything I can do to speed this process up? As of now I have minimal use of my right arm because I injured my shoulder in accident and so far Dr has me off work till end of January. If I were to take a car loan for about 14 to 17k for 60 to 72 months, I am 20 and have no credit, but it would be cosigned by my grandfather who has a credit score of 690. The down payment would be in the ballpark of $2500 to $3500. Estimates would be great. I don't particularly want to call around to banks and all that right now since I won't be actually doing this for a couple of months, I would just like to get all the figures worked out before hand. I am posting this on behalf of my mother in law. She has a car that was damaged at her sisters house (my mother-in-law lived with her sister) during the wind storm Cincinnati had last year. Just trying to get an idea of how much everyone pays...all my friends seem to pay less than me. I am 26, female. One speeding ticket and one DUI (in the state where I'm licensed)...both from 7 years ago. No accidents. I live in an urban area, a midwestern city with probably 200,000 people. I have a 2007 suzuki reno, base package, I have not made any insurance claims. The cheapest I've found is progressive at $110/month...I can't use places like The General or Safe Auto because my state doesn't allow it. When I get quotes from big companies, like state farm, the monthly cost is about $200...my coverage is probably fairly standard, if not on the low side, but meets state guidelines.

Sounds easy right...but this is the problem...my previous insurance lapsed and I have been without insurance since April(don't worry..not driving!!) FR-44 INSURANCE PLEAAASSEE HELPPP CONFUSINGGGGG?

Ok so I need an FR-44 non owners insurance but I think its impossible to find a non owners policy here in Tampa, Fl. They keep telling me I need prior coverage/ownership of a vehicle. I do have a car but its not under my name(under my dads name) and I do have insurance but its under my dads name also (I put it under his name b/c it was going to be tooooo expensive for me to get it under my name b/c I was a teenager then). So now my question is: if i do not have luck with finding the non-owners fr-44, and I tranfer the car title to my name, can my dad add me to his current policy so that way I would be able to get the fr-44??? Also, if I do that(my dad adds me to his policy as a secondary driver,once the car is under my name) do I have to have the fr-44 from the same insurance company my dad has or can I get it elsewhere???
